Teeth Straightening

If you would like to find out more about the options for teeth straightening, then contact us today for a free appointment. In some cases, patients have a renewed confidence once their teeth are straightened. They talk of having a ‘better smile’. And whilst that’s true, the other big advantage of straightening your teeth is that it could produce a better bite and that your teeth could be easier to clean.

Teeth straightening solutions

Your dentist will assess your mouth and then advise you on the best teeth straightening options for you. We are an approved Invisalign® Dentist which means that we can offer you an alternative to orthodontic braces.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is a patented methodology for straightening your teeth. Invisalign® works by using a series of discrete, clear removable teeth aligners that are custom-made for your teeth using patented 3D technology.

Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign® aligners are difficult to spot when worn. They are also unlikely to impair your speech.

Your dentist will take a digital scan, X rays and photographs of your teeth before showing you a simulated outcome; this is a 3D model of your teeth before and after the Invisalign® Treatment.

If you wish to go ahead with Invisalign® treatment then your dentist will send them the digital scan, X rays and photographs so that the team at Invisalign® can create the ClinCheck® treatment plan. There may be a charge for this part of the process and your dentist will explain this before asking for your decision to proceed.

Your dentist will use the ClinCheck® treatment plan to explain how many aligners are likely to be required and how long the treatment is likely to take. You’ll typically wear each set of the aligners 24 hours a day for about two weeks, removing them at meal times or to brush and floss your teeth, eat and drink.

Your dentist will make regular appointments to check your progress, with the treatment ending once all aligners have been worn. The treatment varies greatly and can last anything between six to 15 months.

Once your treatment has ended, your dentist will advise you on an after-care plan. This normally involves wearing retainers at night for six months, and then usually a few times a week.
